I've just received reports from Clayton Wright and Judy and Dale Tuvey of their independent fishing trips to North Twin Lake on the Colville reservation, and the news is promising for our outing scheduled for May 6-10. Clayton's report was a little depressing -- only a handful of fish between two or three anglers. The good news is that the Tuveys arrived the day Clayton left, and they caught a good number of very nice trout. So sorry, Clayton. You should have been there tomorrow.
The lake is ice-free, and theRainbow Beach Resort has all their docks in place. Their boats were being readied while the Tuveys were there. So were the fish. The Tuveys saw five truckloads of fish being dumped into the lake. The report from the tribal fisheries people is that they've stocked North and South Twin with 15,000 triploid rainbows and 1,500 jumbo trout (5-8 pounds). That sounds good to me. I hope it encourages you to join our May 6-10 outing. If you decide to come and need lodging, call Bob Adams (425-681-7228) or call the Rainbow Beach Resort directly (509-722-5901).
