After repairing some damage to our beach boardwalk that resulted from the last large storm, Dave and I had intended to fish Pass Lake for the afternoon, but the parking lot is closed temporarily because of a sinkhole. Check the park website before you head that way to fish.
Not wanting to cancel fishing altogether, we headed south to Lone Lake. There was a steady breeze all afternoon and just one other angler, but that didn't seem to bother the fish. In three hours Dave caught more than a half dozen fish, and I caught four. We were trolling streamers in white, yellow, and chartreuse. The fish I caught weren't terribly long (17"), but they were nice and heavy and generally beautiful. Dave caught the largest fish at 19".
Gianna Holle sent me a message that WDFW stocked Cranberry Lake with 500 one-pound fish on November 4. That could be an alternative to Pass Lake while the parking lot is closed.
Fished Cranberry yesterday. On the water for a couple of hours and netted 4, had several on and several more strikes. Banner day for me. Trolled full sinking line with a Carrie’s Special. Planning to try again on Monday. Pass parking lot still closed.
Do you mind telling what streamer pattern you were using?
Thanks for the update! Got back from the Kitsap Peninsula. We hit some Shelton areas as well. Had a great time. Caught a couple SRC’s. Learned new sites. Wet, wet, wet!!! Stopped raining the morning we left.
