Peter Tobin and I were fishing the St. Joe River, ID in mid-October. Water flow was low.
Best dry-fly cutthroat fishing we have had since we started fishing this river now for over 5 years. Average sizes were 15 to 17 inch. We also had afternoon of multiple fish in the 20+ inch class. Here is a photo of Peter with one of the cutts. Nothing like fishing size 18 dry flies! Can't wait until next year.
What section of the river did you drift? You should make a small present at the club meeting.
Glad you two did well.,
Great post, Bob. Thanks. This looks like a great trip.
